What is CYLO? |

CYLO is the first telecom service that replaces calling cards for calling your family in India. It provides Indians in Australia a hotline to their family in India. |

How does CYLO work? |
|
When you subscribe to the CYLO service, an IP phone is deployed at your designated address in India. This phone requires broadband connection instead of the normal telephone line. Then Australia phone number (example 0296875000) is assigned to that IP phone that is located at your house in India. Now you need to call the IP phone in India (which is the local AUSTRALIA number) for you to speak with your family in India. Thus, CYLO allows subscribers a cheaper alternative to call their family in India. |

How much does the CYLO service cost? |
|
The IP phone will be deployed to your house in India for a one-time cost of $99.90. There is a monthly charge of $19.90 in exchange of unlimited talk time with your family in India on that IP phone. |

Do I incur any other expense besides the subscription charges? |
|
Yes. Since the number assigned to the IP phone is the local AUSTRALIA number so you will be charged local call rates from your telecom / mobile service provider when you dial that number. Such local calls are usually included in your mobile network 'free minutes' package so there may be no charge at all. Calls from your landline are untimed so you can talk as much as you want. |

Do I need to call only that IP phone in India? Why? |
|
Yes. Most callers to India use calling cards to call India. 70 - 80% of these calls are to one destination such as family in India- parents or wife. So the IP phone is deployed to that family's home in India to operate as a hotline with them. |

What do I need in Australia/ India for the CYLO service to work? |
|
* In Australia- you do not require either the PC or Broadband. You just need to call from any landline or mobile in Australia.
* In India - While you do not require a PC, you definitely require a Broadband and IP phone. |

How much does Broadband cost in India? |
|
BSNL (our preferred ISP in India) charges Rs. 250 per month for broadband connection. |

Who requires CYLO service? |
|
People who spend $20 or more to call their one family in India stand to benefit from this service. Even when you spend $20 on calling cards you get limited talk time. For the $20 that CYLO costs you get UNLIMITED talk time. |

Yes. Subscribers save substantial amounts every month when they replace calling cards with CYLO service |

Besides saving costs what are the other benefits of CYLO? |

* Besides you, anyone else in Australia (say your brother in Perth or relatives in Adlaide) can call the CYLO number to speak with your family too. That means, two brothers/sisters staying separately in Australia can share the cost and still talk to their parents in India . They need not subscribe to service twice.
* When you travel anywhere else in world, you can call your family on the CYLO number instead of calling on their Indian landline number. Because call costs to AUSTRALIA are cheaper than calling to India. |

How is this possible? What is the technology behind CYLO? |
|
CYLO receives calls either from landline or mobile in Australia and switches to VoIP technology to deliver the voice at the destination. Since the Voice is carried over internet, the calls are cheaper. |

What Is VoIP? |
|
Voice Over Internet Protocol (also referred to as Internet Telephony) is the transportation of telephone calls over the Internet that converts your analogue phone conversation into packets of digital data that are sent across the Internet (just like email or a web page) The IP phone in India reconverts them back into analogue sound at the other end for a crisp, clear telephone experience. |

How much time does it take to get a CYLO connection? |
|
Once you sign up to the service it takes 10 working days for your banking details to be verified. Once your details are verified your direct debit will be setup and the phone is deployed to your home in India. The whole process from signup to having the phone setup will take between 2-3 weeks. |

How do I pay for CYLO services? |
|
The standard CYLO offer costs $19.90 per month which is paid by direct debit/ credit card. In addition there is a one-off charge for purchasing the IP Phone to be deployed in India. |

How Good Is The Call Quality? |
|
Technology advances in IP telephony transportation have made Internet calling as good or better than normal PSTN connections. |

Does CYLO Replace My Telephone Line? |
|
Theoretically it can, but CYLO service is designed to save money on frequently made international calls to your family in India. It's better to look upon CYLO as a way to reduce your long distance telephone charges as well as utilizing many of the new advanced features that are available through VoIP technology. For local calls, you would still continue using your traditional phone system. |

How Do I Know If I have a CYLO Phone Call? |

Yes, you can use your computer for all normal activities including browsing the Internet, if you are using a high speed connection. |

Does My Computer Needs To Be Turned On For Making Or Receiving Call? |

No, but your Internet connection needs to be working. |

Can I Transfer My Telephone Number? |
|
No, the telephone number allotted to you is non-transferable. |

Can I use CYLO connection for Fax? |
|
Yes, you can attach a Fax machine using an ATA configured to function on CYLO service. This is also known as Fax Over IP or FOIP. |

Can I Go Wireless With CYLO? |
|
Yes, provided you have your broadband available on Wi-Fi network. You would require IP Phone that supports Wi-Fi. |
